In April 2019 65 Degrees North set out to summit EVEREST!!!

At 29,029 ft (8,848m) above sea level, Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the World!

It took unimaginable endurance, courage, resilience and strength to reach the summit, but the team pushed themselves harder, and higher, than they have ever climbed before.

The Nepalese call the mountain Sagarmatha, meaning “Forehead (or Goddess) of the Sky”. In Tibet it is known as Chomolungma, “Mother Goddess of the Universe”.

The team climbed Everest via the Southeast Ridge route on the Nepalese side of the mountain, and the expedition to the ‘Top of the World’ took 2 months to complete.

The area above 8,000 meters (26,000ft) is called the “death zone,” because of its thin air and brutal weather.

Team Everest battled sub-freezing windchill temperatures, as low as -55ºC, the effects of high altitude, sudden and unpredictable storms, and avalanches. Heavy snow, strong winds, frostbite, snow blindness and hypothermia were all major threats that the team had to contend with throughout the expedition.

On May 21st 4 team members successfully reached the summit of the World’s highest mountain!
